Super Sketchy Sunday

Sundays mean a new sketch by Pam over at 365 cards. They are usually both inspiring and a little difficult. Today’s sketch is no exception!

I decided to do a RAK holder card (sort of) of a type I saw in a magazine a while ago. I have this little thing that will be going out with the mail today so it suited me fine.

Väskkort framsidaVäskkort insidaThe papers are yummy Bo Bunny which I’ve been hoarding quite some time now. Thought it was time to start cutting in them. Love the combination of orange and pink! All the stamps are new Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. They will be in store soooon!

I didn’t be quite as productive as I thought I’d be yesterday evening. I sat glaring at my stuff for an hour and then I went to bed. I was asleep before 9 pm… It felt goood!

Wish you the best of Sundays!

Home Alone!

Wohoo! Hubby and son went to a Hockey game and I’m left at home, alone, free to spend the evening the way I want it! This is one rare occasion which I will treasure! And I will for sure spend the night by my scrap desk. YAY!

Before I do that, I’ll share the cards I made this morning. I got the most AWESOME stamps from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps yesterday and I had to start playing with them. I fell in love with this little bird, so I made two 4x4 Valentine’s cards with it.

This first one is based on the beautiful sketch of the week from Stamps and Smiles.Feb 1 Next one is based on the Get Sketchy sketch, and is also made for the 3 S challenge over at 365 cards. S as in Stripes, Squares and Spring.Feb 2I’m heading to my scrap room! Wish you all a lovely Saturday!

I Wish you Blue Birds….

The 365 cards’ challenge was to use the 3 B’s: Blue, Blossom and emBossing. This card was so much fun to make! I got to use my favorite stamp set right now – the Yoo HOOO! set from Firecracker Designs – and to FINALLY use an embossing folder I got ages ago. Tesa_Jan06 And I like how it turned out. I’ve corrected the flower after the photo was taken. I also tried the G challenge – to use Green, Glitter and Grosgrain.

Tesa_Jan07These stamps are from Firecracker Designs too, from the Paper Roses set. FCD have the best sentiments around. Promise!

Time to make dinner! Have a great day!

Sixten on his first layout (and a card)

I got photos of my nephew only hours after he was born. And I’ve tried to scrap them ever since. Lesson learned is that I don’t do the cute baby blue pages very well. But once I let go of that, and brought out my Origins papers, which are perfect in colors for the photos, I made this in one evening. I choose two photos from his first hours of life. One of how CUTE he is, one that allows us to remember how TINY he was – 10 weeks early and all.Sixten alldeles ny I’ve based the layout on a sketch by the oh so talented Julie Bonner. Speaking of sketches, I’ve also made a card based on Card pattern’s sketch of the week. A great sketch it was.Valentines 4The stamp is I Flip For You - one of the new Valentine’s stamps from The Rubber Café. Angus showing off for Stella… LOL!

Take care!

Too much…

…pink and princess was the result of my try at today’s 365 cards challenge. Scheeeeez…. But since I did it, I thought I’d share it…

Princess card The challenge was 3 x P: Paisley, Pink and Princess. Well, the pink paper in the background is stamped and embossed with a Hero Art’s paisley stamp even though I ended up covering most of it in my desperate tries to make this work. Still love my Fleur de lis! But have you seen what is coming from Spellbinders now…. Ayayayaayyyy! I used the lovely sketch from Sketch Saturday.

As a compensation for all the pinkness, here is a layout I did last summer with a fab DT kit from 1WorldScrap. My 1 year term is over and I will miss the gals and the amazing kits put together by Anke and her team! Father and sonThis is dear son and hubby watching birds early spring 2009. Love to watch them together.

See you soon!

Sunday Morning Therapy

I went to bed really early yesterday, and no mishaps during the night meant good sleep and an early morning. I spent it in my scrap room with a couple of challenges and a new treat bag folding I found on Helen’s blog. LOVE THIS! Very easy, quick  and totally cute.

Bloom On! I’ve used the 365 cards Super Sketchy Sunday sketch (which was a totally fab one!) and I’ve also been inspired by the Sukkersött’s challenge – children's songs. One of my favorites are from Thumbelina: Let me be your wings. But ok, here she’s gotten her wings…  well anyhoo…

I’m off to do a couple of more treat bags!

Have a nice Sunday!

Mini album and a 6x6 layout

This last week, I’ve been working an a mini album about our vacation 2008. I think it turned out ok, but it didn’t photograph well. Sorry about that. Well, here are a couple of pages from it:  Mini 3Mini 6I’ve used some scrap papers in neutral colors, and added the pinkish prima paper as accent. All the decoration is stamps from Prickley Pear Rubber stamps, I’ve mainly used Paris and Mothers day half sheet,     Lazy Days of summer half sheet and Mainly Flowers half sheet.

And I’ve used the same stamps for a 6x6 layout too. I simply adore this photo, cause we had the best of times when I took it on our mini vacation to Stockholm last summer. I love you We’re having a calm day at home today, dear son got the naughty bug yesterday and I spent the night taking care of the poor thing. He has the fever and sleeps in the couch right now, finally it seems like the bug is giving in. The sad thing is, I had to call our tomorrow crop off. Don’t want to spread this to my friends. Oh, well, I hope they will be able to come another day instead.

Have a lovely Saturday night!

My niece turns 5 today. She’s getting big. And I decided to make her a little treat with the help of an old flower packaging. This one:Förpackning And with the help of some stamps and a die and some sweets, it ended up like this.Tesa_Jan05The stamps used are the from the beautiful Paper Roses set and the bird is from the Yoo HOOO! set. I love how this project turned out! Love my new Fleur de Lis die and I love the stamps! I’ve seen this kind of projects before, but never tried it myself, but wow, it’s simple, and the result is really cool.

Gahhhhh…

The weather is driving me crazy! It’s snowing hard, the sun never came up today and it’s freezing. I decided early this morning when looking out the window, to work at home. Good decision indeed! I ran over a roe deer Friday last week, and I’ve become a little nervous driving in bad weather after that. It was NOT a nice experience. Both me and the car are fine, but the sight of the poor animal is killing me. Yikes.

I made a real quick card at my lunch break today (another good thing with working at home!), following the recipe at 365 cards.  I think Pam is trying to make us go crazy. The recipe was tough! But here is my take on it:

Jan01Card base, two pieces of patterned papers, one sentiment, one ribbon and three buttons. Done.  Phew. But I love how the two scrap pieces from Dream Street and Graphic 45 work together! And I actually got to use the star button which is one of the first items I bought when I started with this three years ago. The sentiment is from Prickley Pear and I totally love that font!

Next card is what I did yesterday instead of go to bed. I played with the Mojo Monday sketch 122 (I flipped it) and some of my Prickley Pear stamps. Jan2 The cat stamp is called Scribble Kitty and is totally adorable! . I’ve used some of my favorite punches too, cause there was the challenge on one of the blogs… But I don’t know which one… Anyway, it was fun to play with my Retros again, it was quite some time ago!

An hour work left to do, then dinner, then some crafting tonight. I’m working on a mini album. I don’t do them that often, and I tend to forget how fun it is!!!

Take care!

Puppy Love!

I have another Valentines Day card to share. This time with the cute Rubber Café Lab. I kept it clean and simple, lifting a card on SCS found HERE for the featured scrapper challenge. Valentine 3 Isn’t he adorable? The puppy is from the Labrador Love Set, and the sentiment from Just My Type set, both from The Rubber Café.

Yesterday I got my new nesties! I finally gave in for the Fleur de Lis… And it was perfect for my try at a fairytale card for my niece who turns 5 on Thursday. I've used Kazan's sketch 44 over at 2Sketches4You.Grattis RebeccaThis is for 365 cards day 324 – Musical Monday Challenge. The challenge was to be inspired by the song A dream is a wish your heart makes. It’s from the Cinderella movie, but I was thinking about a fairytale – hence a fairy, and she looks like she is day dreaming, and I wish my niece gets what she wants for her birthday. Hepp!

Back to work! Have a lovely day!

Mmmmm, Chocolate….

I got some sneak peak stamps from Firecracker Designs to play with yesterday. Three new yummy and loving sets are up for pre orders! Since I’m all in for good chocolate, I fell in love. Again. LOL! Sooo here is a sample from the new set Got Chocolate? using the fab sketch of the week from The Pink Elephant.Tesa_Jan04The three different cookies come as three separate stamps, but I’ve layered them and put them on 3D foam to get some dimension. I’ve also used puffy paint as frosting.  The sentiment is one of my all time favorites! Hehhee, it’s such a good one! All info about the pre order deal and all three sets can be found HERE.

Have a good Monday!

Super Sketchy Sunday

Pam over at the 365 cards are challenging us with great sketches every Sunday. Today is no exception. Here is my take:TrueI also made the card in brown and turquoise to match the color challenge over at Sketchy Colors. I love this color combination!

I’m off for an afternoon sleep. I’m dead tired. We stayed up way to late yesterday playing Mahjong. It’s a great game, but I’m no good at it. I lost bad. But next time…

Sometimes you need to brusque…

…and really have a clear  message! Especially when it comes to important things like getting the girls together for a girls’ night out. I had the perfect stamp set for this quest! Come Hither I made this for 365 cards’ “Girls Night Out Challenge”. And I used the fab sketch of the week from Get Sketchy.

The papers are old Pink Paislee papers – I found the last scraps of my favorite orange paper and the stamps are from the Woman in Character set from Firecracker DesignsCome Hither utdragen We are having guests tonight, so I’ll spend the rest of the day preparing. Need to clean the house, clear my scrap space (that’s where they’ll sleep – sigh!) and make a delicious dinner – I hope!

Have a great weekend!

Woot!!!

I'm soooo excited today! I just found out that Paper Craft Magazine wants to publish one of my cards! Wohooo!!! I'm over the moon! And I just HAD to share my excitment. Hubby only went like, oh, ok...

I have a page to share too. I made this one months ago, but I never blogged it here. Perfect for today so that this post is more than a bragging one... :o)

I got the most amazing DT kit from 1WorldScrap with all these goodies in it. Cherry Arte papers, Senic Route chipboards, Lutradur... So I tried to print my main photo on the Lutradur and made a collage of my favorite flowers from the garden. I am feeling warmer only by looking at this page.

Have a great day!

Woo Hoo!!!

Here it is again…. My favorite sentiment, but I haven’t used it in over a week. Promise! Today’s challenge at 365 cards is to think teenager. My 17 year old neighbor made the regional soccer team and I thought that would call for some Woo Hoo!!! So this is for her and her accomplishment!Januari 3 She is a flower in her hair and dresses kind of girl, so a feminine card it is. Based on the sketch of the week from Inspirational Card Sketches. The stamps are from the Yoo HOOO! set from Firecracker Designs.

Time to make dinner! Have a nice evening!

Wintery Greetings!

It’s about time to put the Holiday stamps away for a couple of months… But while at it I decided to make a card where I combined my three favorite Rubber Café Holiday Stamps. Let me present my top three list: The Snowman from the Baby it’s cold outside set, the Labrador and the Penguin from the Winter Fun Labrador set.Januari 1The design is really simple, I’m using amazing papers from BoBunny – Snow Serenade, and then the masked stamped image. Done. I also added some glittery white fun flock on the dog’s hat and on the snow.

I did this for the 365 cards - day 317 Crazy Eight. The challenge was to use 8 different colors on your card and I’ve used white, red, blue, black, brown, orange, grey and silver. I do hope silver counts! I’ve added some silver glitter pen on details and it shimmers really nice in addition to the fun flock glitter.

I also have a layout to share with my new favorite papers – Origins from Basic Grey. I can’t get enough of them.På egna benThe page is about dear son and how he grew 2009. He became more secure on himself, starting to dare try new things out and we are so happy about this.

Have a fab new week!

My nieces

I have very few photos of my nieces where both are smiling. Trust me – I’ve been hunting them for quite some time… But this Christmas, after they had gotten their presents, I sneaked up on them while they were occupied with a game and took this. The quality of the photo is not that good – I suck when comes to taking photos. But aren’t they sweet!?!Söta Stora SystrarI went a little bananas whit the vintage stuff and the page didn’t turn out the way I wanted. I’m no good at this style, but it’s fun trying once in a while.

I like the card more. I used the colors from the 365 cards ad which was today’s challenge, and the design is based on the Sketch Saturday´s sketch#85. The oh so perfect sentiment is from Firecracker Designs, the Paper Roses set. Bravo And today I returned to Facebook, since a long lost friend (well, my fault as usual!) added me as a friend. Couldn’t resist. Hopefully we’ll find our friendship again. And maybe I’ll be more interested in that FB thing this time.

Have a lovely weekend!

Friendship…

…must be nurtured and the first thing I thought of when I saw the 365 Cards Braiding challenge was the Friendship bracelets we used to do when I was young…ehhrm…er. And that instantly made me think of the cutest sentiment ever which I’ve been cuddling for a while, saving for something special. The card was done. Almost. Needed to remember how one did those bracelets first… I did a quick search and found loads of tutorials and inspiration. I ended up using THIS side. It got back to me quickly, even though I need to practice to get it straighter. I choose colors to go with my new FANTASTIC Origins papers.

Januari 2 Aren’t the papers totally awesome??? I used the Mojo Monday sketch #120. LOVE this sketch! And I really like how the card turned out, but with some favorite papers and favorite stamps – all are from the Yoo HOOO! set from Firecracker Designs - it had to be something I could like. LOL!

Happy Weekend all!

Good Luck!

I found the most adorable pocket card with tutorial on The Character Cafe blog. I had to give it a go, and I also decided to use the fab sketch of the week from 2 Sketches 4 You. Lycka tillThe paper is Basic Grey Wisteria, and that stamp, a new favorite of mine, is from Prickley Pear.  The inside pocket is filled with a money gift, when I give it away, it will contain lottery tickets instead, but I haven’t bought them yet. Lycka till insida Thanks for stopping by!

WooHoo!

I have the most awesome stamp set from Firecracker Designs to work with this month. It contains the sentiment WooHoo… I think I have a feeling that I will use that one over and over again. Here is a first.Januari 1 The stamp set is called Yoo HOOO! LOL! I’ve used the fantastic sketch over at 365 cards for making this card and the rest is all scraps. I’ve decided this lack of new stuff is a good thing, cause the pile of scrap paper is slowly getting thinner. And Mom gave me some adhesives to make it through the weekend. Thanks Mom!

Have a nice Sunday all!

Back from New Years Celebration

We’ve had a couple of hectic and fun days with family over the New Year’s Eve Celebration. I had a couple of projects done before we left on Wednesday, but I never got the time to post them. So here they are.

First a Thank You Card, inspired by the beautiful Mojo Monday Sketch #119. Tusen Tack (N) And then also a layout with the adorable photo of my son, trying to be a real MAN. LOL! I love this photo. The journaling is a quote “Mom! I want to pose like the men on TV usually pose when they have been shoveling snow.” A Macho Man. Or something… LOL! I don’t have much left in my stash, but I took what I had. And kept it simple.

Have a great Saturday night! We’ll be spending it in the sofa with pizza and a DVD. Life is good.

Happy New Year!

I wish you all a Happy 2010! And I hope you all had a lovely New Year's Celebration yesterday. We did. Wonderful food and mostly happy children... We've been visiting my parent over the New Year and my brother and my two nieces came too. Their mother and baby brother is still in the hospital, and will stay there for quite some time, but they are both doing well considering.
My mum wanted me to help her out with a few cards and who am I to reject some card making??? LOL! She has quite a stash that she uses way to little, but I was happy to dig into her pile of papers... This first card is for my brother and sister in law, it contains their Christmas presents from my mum and dad - some help and equipment building their house. I had free hands and I decided to play along with the 365 cards challenge - Digging deep. I can tell you, it was NOT hard to find stuff in the bottom of the drawers that she got AGES ago and have still never used...

It applies to most of the products used, but i especially remember the stamp which we both bought one each of over two years ago. It was still in it's little zip bag... And the Tombows that the stamp is colored with, she bought last Christmas - I helped her chose colors. Never used by her...

Next two cards are Good Luck with the New Year cards for two friends. She wanted them done with two of her favorite foldings. The Easel and a pop up card.

This rose was also unused, and I love it. She wanted this card to sparkle, so there is a lot of glitter and bling on it. I used the fab sketch SASSC46 from Our Creative Corner.
Finally a simple Pop Up card. No bling!
These cards were quick fixes while the kids were out playing in the snow and drinking hot cocoa. Considering that and the fact that the only own stuff I brought was some of my nesties (can't travel without them... lol) I'm ok with them. But I do long after my own stash, and my new fab stamps... I have some AMAZING stamps to work with in January!!!

Have a wonderful weekend and a happy beginning of the new year!
