A new card and an old one

Hi! This is such a great week – it will end with a weekend I’ve been waiting for since March. It’s time for this:

A two day Crop and Expo. My mom and I will have soooo much fun. And hopefully get some scrapping done too. I know there will be some serious shopping… Yihaaa!!!!

Here is a card I did this afternoon with some of the papers I bought last time, in March, and have been hoarding ever since… Time to make space for some new ones, right!?!

Bingo - missing you_redigerad-1

The stamps are all from Prickley Pear, papers are Graphic 45. I used  Kazan’s sketch #62 from 2Sketches4You.

Over to the old one. Amy continues to challenge us to show our oldies. In her, and her guest DT Rose’s  Flashback Friday 3.0 the task is to dig up the first card made for a challenge. I actually found mine in my first ever gallery over at Scrappiz (Swedish forum). It was made for a recipe challenge and was uploaded February 23 2007, I had been scrapbooking for two months and this was my second card I ever made.

I remember these papers, thick Crate, soooo beautiful. And lookie, I masked the background stamp, stamped in gold. I don’t think I’ve used that inkpad ever since.  I think the card is ok considering. I like the doodling… LOL!

If you want to play this FUN challenge, you can find all the info HERE.

Super Sketchy Sunday!

Hi!!! It’s time for a new sketch from 365 cards!

It’s also time for a brand new fun sponsor!!! This week we all got lovely deep etched red rubber stamps from Sparkle Creations.

Here is Pam’s sketch:

And here is my take, using the lovely Charlotte with a Rose stamp and some Bo Bunny papers.

FragileI hope you will play with us this week!!! The sketch is super fun, and a winner will receive a prize from Sparkle Creations!!!

I have a layout to share too. It’s with a photo I’ve had in my pile of photos to scrap for years. It’s not super sharp, but the fun my son and niece had playing is well worth preserving!

Tjo hoo!

Can you see the happiness in their faces??? LOL!!! I used sketch #122 from Creative Scrappers. It’s sooo much fun!!!

I’m also entering this in Scrap and Stamp’s  Embossing challenge. The tag is stamped and heat embossed with a text stamp, and the journaling spot is a clear stamp that is heat embossed and cut out.

Have a lovely Sunday and thanks for stopping by!!!

Happy Prickley Pear News

Hi! Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps has a new Design Team, and I’m on it for another year. Wohoo!!! New stamps will be released this weekend and I can’t wait to start playing with some of them!!! But the good news don’t end there – there are more!!! Prickley Pear stamps will be carried by a Swedish Scrapbook Store and Web shop – Ljuva Änglar! The first shipment is on it’s way over here as I write and a first sneak peak is up in the blog. Yihaa!!!

While waiting for new stamps I’ve been having fun with some of my favorite clear sets. This one is made with the Birdcage set and the coordinated die and some gorgeous Riddersholm Design papers (Turquoise Hill).

Thinking of youI used the fabbie sketch #56 from Get Sketchy:

And here is a real quick one using the Build a Bird set and die.

Spread your wings

Love these polka dot papers!!! The sketch used for this one is from Sketchy Colors. Sooooo much fun!!!

And here is a third card, just because! LOL! The set it my newest, the Hot Air Balloon set.

follow your heartThis set is my  new top one favorite. Soooo much fun, and great for boyish cards – I’ll be back soon with a card with the airplane. It’s in my head still. :):):)

Layout and a Christmas Card

This will be a short one, not much talking. I have the worst cold in years, yikes! But I wanted to share a layout I did the other day, my first project for Scrap-Perra.

Vi 2...

All project info in Swedish and detail photo can be found HERE.  I’ve used the September 1th sketch from Stuck?! Sketches.

I did a card too, totally inspired by Cornelia who has been making candle cards en masse. Beautiful cards! I did some last year too, but I liked the idea with incorporating tea bags and matches, so I tried her version out and this is what I came up with:

Ljuskort 1Ljuskort 1 insida

I did this card for the fun Jolly Holiday Greetings Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.  And I used Laura’s sketch over at 2Sketches4You.

Thanks for stopping by!

Piggy Bank

Hi folks! I’ve been saving some money for the big scrapbook fair in two weeks. Yesterday I FINALLY altered the box I’ve used as a Piggy Bank.

Spargris

The beautiful papers used are all from the Vintage Pink Line from Riddersholm Design. I’ve been hoarding this beige paper for quite some time now, looooove it!

Spargris detalj 2

I visited my LSS, Ljuva Änglar, yesterday and was totally inspired by all the beauty created by their DT. I saw a paper and vellum layered Magnolia dragonfly that was soooo gorgeous. I didn’t have that die, but used the same technique with a butterfly. Not as good, but good enough! LOL!

While there I also saw the sketch and sample for their September Sketch and Autumn challenge and decided to play along. Here is the beautiful sketch:

You can find all the info about the challenge HERE. I followed the sketch pretty close, only changed it from a square to a circle.

Spargris detaljYou might wonder about the Autumn part… Weeeeeeell…. I thought that the fact that  it’s done for the Autumn Fair would  be enough… Do you think????

I blogged my first DT layout for Scrap-Perra today. You can find it HERE if you want to take a peek. I’ll post it here tomorrow.

Have a  great day!

Hi!

We woke up to a new Sweden today. A Sweden with it’s first elected racist party in the parliament. I’m sad. And ashamed. But I know that the fight against racism and xenophobia has only started.

Over to scrapbooking. While listening to the election results all night yesterday I made a layout with some really old photos. When Dear Son quit kindergarten four years ago, he got a bag filled with photos taken during his time there. Many photos spanning from he was 1,5 – 5,5 years old. Most of them with really bad quality and with the colors the children of Welfare Sweden know all to well – washed out yellow and grey and green (why does every kindergarten, school, hospital, commune office HAVE to have these colors???? Nobody knows!)… Anyway, I have been hoarding them, wanted to make something out of them anyway, cause it’s an important part of J’s history.

På DagisThis week’s Sketchy Thursday sketch is what made me finally do something with a few of the photos. The sketch is a great one!!! And as you can see, I followed it pretty close!

I’ve also started my tag making process. I love this Magnolia tag die. Simply perfect for Christmas tags! The stamps used are Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

Celebrate the magic

I’ll be back tomorrow with some of the cards I made last night – election nights are made for radio and crafting!!! LOL!

Take care!

Where did this week go???? It’s Thursday already – which meand mother in law will be here in matter of hours. EEeeekkkkk!!!! Soooo, I’m now cleaning the house like a mad woman while I also try to read a text and answer my work mail. I needed this short break I can tell you!!!

Chek THIS out!!! Wohooo!!!!!! I LOVE Darkroom Door’s stamps and other products, so this will be a blast!!! I’m happy and honored!!! And to celebrate I did a happy card using a stamp I bought this spring but only used once. Why??? She is the cuutest little hen there is…. LOL!

Hey hönanThe hen is from Papper  & Sånt,  and I love her. The cute sentiment is from Firecracker Designs. I used Kazan’s sketch #61 over at 2Sketches4You – great to work with as always!!!

Well, I’d better get back to my work/cleaning/reading business. I have a lot to prepare for tomorrow when hubby will officially receive his doctor’s degree in a fancy event with dinner and dance afterwards. He’ll be wearing a dress suit and I will enjoy every moment of that!!!

Beautiful Lurö

Hi!!! Happy Wednesday!!! We have a wonderful sunny autumn day here. The sun sure cheers one up!!! (And some pretty exciting news I just got by mail sure helps too!!! But schhhhh – it’s a secret for a month or two…)

I have a layout and a couple of quick boxes to share today. The layout is about my workplace’s summer conference retreat place in the archipelago. For several years we used to end the school year with a trip to Lurö where we worked some, and had fun some (or much!!!). I wanted to save the feeling of these wonderful summer days we used to have there in this layout.

LuröI used a beautiful Websters’ Pages paper that I’ve been hoarding. But for this mission it was perfect, with lots of blue for the water and sky, and hints of red perfect for the red housed and light house on the island.

I based the design on the sketch #121 from Creative scrappers. It’s a beautiful one as you can see!!! Loved using it!

I'm also working on getting my scrappy life organized. I’m not doing that well… But some times it’s the effort that counts. REALLY! So to get some structure in my card making and card storage I did two simple card boxes (I’ve done these before, but never kept one for my self…). They are made in like ten minutes, then you decide how much time you spend on decorating. I didn’t do much of that. I design for two stamp companies, and these are for storage of my cards that are to be sent off to them. Hence I used some of my fav stamps from either company on the boxes.

First up is The Rubber Café Box:

Låda TRC And next is Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps:

Låda PPRS You can find the tutorial for the box on The Rubber café blog HERE. And if you use the Ultimate Top Score board, HERE is the tutorial for you. (And there you can see my first take on the box too!!!)

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!

The sketch I used for this is from Clean and Simple Stamping and looks like this:

Just beautiful!!! Have a great day folks and thank you soooo much for visiting!!!!
