Hi! This is such a great week – it will end with a weekend I’ve been waiting for since March. It’s time for this:
A two day Crop and Expo. My mom and I will have soooo much fun. And hopefully get some scrapping done too. I know there will be some serious shopping… Yihaaa!!!!
Here is a card I did this afternoon with some of the papers I bought last time, in March, and have been hoarding ever since… Time to make space for some new ones, right!?!
Over to the old one. Amy continues to challenge us to show our oldies. In her, and her guest DT Rose’s Flashback Friday 3.0 the task is to dig up the first card made for a challenge. I actually found mine in my first ever gallery over at Scrappiz (Swedish forum). It was made for a recipe challenge and was uploaded February 23 2007, I had been scrapbooking for two months and this was my second card I ever made.
I remember these papers, thick Crate, soooo beautiful. And lookie, I masked the background stamp, stamped in gold. I don’t think I’ve used that inkpad ever since. I think the card is ok considering. I like the doodling… LOL!
If you want to play this FUN challenge, you can find all the info HERE.
Hi!!! It’s time for a new sketch from 365 cards!
It’s also time for a brand new fun sponsor!!! This week we all got lovely deep etched red rubber stamps from Sparkle Creations.
Here is Pam’s sketch:
And here is my take, using the lovely Charlotte with a Rose stamp and some Bo Bunny papers.
I hope you will play with us this week!!! The sketch is super fun, and a winner will receive a prize from Sparkle Creations!!!
I have a layout to share too. It’s with a photo I’ve had in my pile of photos to scrap for years. It’s not super sharp, but the fun my son and niece had playing is well worth preserving!
Can you see the happiness in their faces??? LOL!!! I used sketch #122 from Creative Scrappers. It’s sooo much fun!!!
I’m also entering this in Scrap and Stamp’s Embossing challenge. The tag is stamped and heat embossed with a text stamp, and the journaling spot is a clear stamp that is heat embossed and cut out.
Have a lovely Sunday and thanks for stopping by!!!
TGIF!!! Hope you are having a great day!!! I’m just happy it’s Friday!!! :):):)
I found this new (to me) card lift challenge blog last week – CASE study, and they have the most beautiful card up to lift this week so I simply had to give it a shot. Here is my try:
The text stamp is from Hero Arts and the beautiful flower is a Prickley Pear Rubber Stamp. I love how it came out, even though it’s not possible to compare it to the original by Mariana Grigsby - it’s absolutely stunning!!!
Here is a box I altered a couple of weeks ago. I use it to keep some of my stray favorite embellishments in on my scrap desk. You know - a couple of brads, a special button or two, some charms…
I used my favorite owls from the Birdcage set and some awesome SassaFras papers – Indian summer. Simple but cute.
Hi! Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps has a new Design Team, and I’m on it for another year. Wohoo!!! New stamps will be released this weekend and I can’t wait to start playing with some of them!!! But the good news don’t end there – there are more!!! Prickley Pear stamps will be carried by a Swedish Scrapbook Store and Web shop – Ljuva Änglar! The first shipment is on it’s way over here as I write and a first sneak peak is up in the blog. Yihaa!!!
While waiting for new stamps I’ve been having fun with some of my favorite clear sets. This one is made with the Birdcage set and the coordinated die and some gorgeous Riddersholm Design papers (Turquoise Hill).
I used the fabbie sketch #56 from Get Sketchy:
And here is a real quick one using the Build a Bird set and die.
Love these polka dot papers!!! The sketch used for this one is from Sketchy Colors. Sooooo much fun!!!
And here is a third card, just because! LOL! The set it my newest, the Hot Air Balloon set.
Take care! I’m off for a nap, this cold is killing me!
This will be a short one, not much talking. I have the worst cold in years, yikes! But I wanted to share a layout I did the other day, my first project for Scrap-Perra.
I did a card too, totally inspired by Cornelia who has been making candle cards en masse. Beautiful cards! I did some last year too, but I liked the idea with incorporating tea bags and matches, so I tried her version out and this is what I came up with:
I did this card for the fun Jolly Holiday Greetings Challenge in the Moxie Fab World. And I used Laura’s sketch over at 2Sketches4You.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hi folks! I’ve been saving some money for the big scrapbook fair in two weeks. Yesterday I FINALLY altered the box I’ve used as a Piggy Bank.
The beautiful papers used are all from the Vintage Pink Line from Riddersholm Design. I’ve been hoarding this beige paper for quite some time now, looooove it!
I visited my LSS, Ljuva Änglar, yesterday and was totally inspired by all the beauty created by their DT. I saw a paper and vellum layered Magnolia dragonfly that was soooo gorgeous. I didn’t have that die, but used the same technique with a butterfly. Not as good, but good enough! LOL!
While there I also saw the sketch and sample for their September Sketch and Autumn challenge and decided to play along. Here is the beautiful sketch:
You can find all the info about the challenge HERE. I followed the sketch pretty close, only changed it from a square to a circle.
Have a great day!
We woke up to a new Sweden today. A Sweden with it’s first elected racist party in the parliament. I’m sad. And ashamed. But I know that the fight against racism and xenophobia has only started.
Over to scrapbooking. While listening to the election results all night yesterday I made a layout with some really old photos. When Dear Son quit kindergarten four years ago, he got a bag filled with photos taken during his time there. Many photos spanning from he was 1,5 – 5,5 years old. Most of them with really bad quality and with the colors the children of Welfare Sweden know all to well – washed out yellow and grey and green (why does every kindergarten, school, hospital, commune office HAVE to have these colors???? Nobody knows!)… Anyway, I have been hoarding them, wanted to make something out of them anyway, cause it’s an important part of J’s history.
This week’s Sketchy Thursday sketch is what made me finally do something with a few of the photos. The sketch is a great one!!! And as you can see, I followed it pretty close!
I’ve also started my tag making process. I love this Magnolia tag die. Simply perfect for Christmas tags! The stamps used are Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.
I’ll be back tomorrow with some of the cards I made last night – election nights are made for radio and crafting!!! LOL!
Happy Sunday folks!
I’ve paper pieced the Primitive Bear digi image for my card. Suuuuper Cuuuute!!!
I hope you want to play with us this week! And be sure to pop over to the 365 cards blog and check the fab DT samples out!!!
Where did this week go???? It’s Thursday already – which meand mother in law will be here in matter of hours. EEeeekkkkk!!!! Soooo, I’m now cleaning the house like a mad woman while I also try to read a text and answer my work mail. I needed this short break I can tell you!!!
Chek THIS out!!! Wohooo!!!!!! I LOVE Darkroom Door’s stamps and other products, so this will be a blast!!! I’m happy and honored!!! And to celebrate I did a happy card using a stamp I bought this spring but only used once. Why??? She is the cuutest little hen there is…. LOL!
Well, I’d better get back to my work/cleaning/reading business. I have a lot to prepare for tomorrow when hubby will officially receive his doctor’s degree in a fancy event with dinner and dance afterwards. He’ll be wearing a dress suit and I will enjoy every moment of that!!!
Hi!!! Happy Wednesday!!! We have a wonderful sunny autumn day here. The sun sure cheers one up!!! (And some pretty exciting news I just got by mail sure helps too!!! But schhhhh – it’s a secret for a month or two…)
I have a layout and a couple of quick boxes to share today. The layout is about my workplace’s summer conference retreat place in the archipelago. For several years we used to end the school year with a trip to Lurö where we worked some, and had fun some (or much!!!). I wanted to save the feeling of these wonderful summer days we used to have there in this layout.
I used a beautiful Websters’ Pages paper that I’ve been hoarding. But for this mission it was perfect, with lots of blue for the water and sky, and hints of red perfect for the red housed and light house on the island.
I based the design on the sketch #121 from Creative scrappers. It’s a beautiful one as you can see!!! Loved using it!
I'm also working on getting my scrappy life organized. I’m not doing that well… But some times it’s the effort that counts. REALLY! So to get some structure in my card making and card storage I did two simple card boxes (I’ve done these before, but never kept one for my self…). They are made in like ten minutes, then you decide how much time you spend on decorating. I didn’t do much of that. I design for two stamp companies, and these are for storage of my cards that are to be sent off to them. Hence I used some of my fav stamps from either company on the boxes.
First up is The Rubber Café Box:
And next is Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps:
Thanks so much for stopping by!!!!
Goood Mooooonday!!! New week, new adventures. My week started 30 minutes ago with some happy news!!! I won a make three cards out of one sketch challenge held by Scraplagret with these cards:
Wohoo!!!! I’m overly excited!!!! All the details about the cards can be found HERE and I can also give away a little secret – the stamps and dies used on this card might soon show up here in Sweden!!! How fun is that!!!!
Well, the card I was supposed to blog this morning is this:
I got new red rubber from The Rubber Café the other week and some of my favorites are the sea shells. Soooo beautiful. I experimented a little with the small clam shell and made a scalloped border by stamping it straight side by side and then cut it out. Soooo, I’m entering this in Moxie Fab World’s Offset Scallop Gallop Challenge.
The sketch I used for this is from Clean and Simple Stamping and looks like this:
Just beautiful!!! Have a great day folks and thank you soooo much for visiting!!!!
Pam has a great sketch for us today (LOVE IT!!!) and also a new fun and generous sponsor – DRS Designs who will give one lucky winner this:
Now over to the sketch:
Isn’t it fun!!!?! Here is my take:
I hope you will play with 365 cards this week! Take care!
