A layout

Last night I decided to try scrap a layout instead of a card. It was not easy, since I’ve run out of cardstock, adhesives and my stash of fresh papers are limited (as is my supply of embellies…). But I found one last piece of white cardstock, now I’m totally out. Don’t know how I’ll manage!!! And I had some photo fix. I hate those, but it works. Now, after the page is done, I have small blue paper backings all over the house. I lake the page that caused it.

SnökulI found a really neat sketch from the Ideas for Scrapbookers blog – HERE – and thought I’d give it a shot. The photos are from yesterday’s play in the snow. Today we’ve stayed inside  - it’s been freezing cold.

Have a great evening!

Monday again…

…and I’m back to work. Feels good to have had a couple of days off, but it felt ok to get started again. I did stay at home though, and I did stop by 3 pm. And here I am, blogging and playing Master Mind with J. He is 9 and he is so much better than me at it.  I’m trying to be the adult, being proud of my son for being so smart… But I must confess it gets to me. Some… LOL!

Here is a card I did yesterday night. It’s for CPS challenge this week which is to use one of the previous sketches of ones choice. I chose #20 and here is the result.Tree Party Invitation The stamps used are all from The Rubber Café. It’s the Gingerbread Background and the Winter Fun Labrador and Kitty set.

Talking about The Rubber Café. A little while ago I did a File card box out of a tutorial found on the Rubber Café Blog. HERE is my box and HERE is the tutorial. Well, mum and mother in law saw my box and wanted one each to keep their cards in. So we did one each for them in a joint venture. Here’s the result

boxar Quick and easy and they both turned out great!

Thanks for stopping by! And thanks for all the lovely comments – they are truly appreciated!

Back in Business

We’ve had a wonderful Christmas in our house. We’ve met up with family and had some fun playing games, exchanging presents and eating loads of delish food. Today we’ve been alone playing some more games (I’ve become a Master Mind addict!) watching the DVD J got from grandma, and played outside in the snow. We’ve got plenty by now and it’s good cause we’re off skiing tomorrow. Wohoo!

I’ve been making some cards too. I set a goal to finish all the 365 cards this week, but I don’t know if I’ll manage. Here are three of them anyway.

First is day 298 – Running in Circles. This one is also for Sketchy Colors – they had a lovely sketch this week.

Grattis Jonathan This is the birthday card I made for J – he turned 9 on Christmas Eve. The circles are made with acrylic paint and different sizes of lids – Pearl maker, Pro marker, Zig writer.

Day 300 is making a snowflake. I hope this counts, it ended up more like a star, but the intention was making a snowflake…

December 4I found a tutorial for the snowflake/star on Swescrapbook blog: HERE. It’s easy and I love how it came out. The beautiful sentiment and stars are from the Shepherd Snow Family from Firecracker Designs.

I’ve used the same set on the day 301 – I’m torn-card. It’s a thank you card from my son, and he was to choose stamp. He knew exactly what he wanted – the cute snowman.

December 5 The snowman is paper piecedand it’s a lot of stickles on this one. The card is made with the help of this weeks’ Friday Sketchers Sketch. They also have a blog hop going on – go check it out!

Phew! That’s all for today. Have a lovely Saturday!

Spring is in the air

- not. But it was a fun challenge at 365 cards to put all the Seasonal papers away for a bit and dream of warmer weather and soft colors and butterflies. And that is what I amused myself with early this morning.

I thought I’d use my new toy. I won this baby at a bingo challenge held by Reprint.  The Ultimate Pro. Wohoo.Ultimate pro  And I had it by my doorstep within three days and it’s been itching in my fingers to get started with it. I decided to go with one of the basic designs  a four-fold Concertina card. I had the card folded and embossed in no time.

Happy SpringHappy spring öppenThe stamps used are all Pricklye Pear Rubber Stamps – the Paris/Spring half sheet. LOVE it!

Back to Christmas Preparations! I’ll be back with a proper Merry Christmas post later, but in case you don’t check back:

MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone. I hope your days of celebration with family and friends will be magical!

Wishing for some Christmas Magic

We got bad news yesterday. My SIL, 29 weeks pregnant, turned very, very ill and was instantly hospitalized. It was a close call and as I write, I’m waiting for some news about how it all turned out with mother and child after emergency c-section this afternoon. I’m wishing for some Christmas Magic for them, a smooth recovery and a healthy baby boy.

I still have some Christmas preparations to do. Tonight I’ll be cooking and baking cookies. And wrap the last presents. It’s good to be occupied. Late yesterday night, when waiting for more news I was making a last minute card for our secretary. The 365 cards challenge – to make a wreath - was PERFECT for me with all the small items to glue together keeping my mind off thinking. And I like how it turned out. Sorry for bad photo – I had to bring it to work and sneak out to take it to get some daylight.God Jul MonicaTake care!

Two more Christmas Cards

I’m making Christmas Cards a couple of more days. I love making Christmas Cards, and I’ll actually miss it, even though I think I must have done like a zillion by now. This morning, I’ve been making two. The first one is based on the Super Sketchy Sunday Challenge at 365 cards. I’ve used the set Baby it’s cold outside from The Rubber Café.
Let it snow 3 The second card is for my MIL. Yeah, I know… I should have sent her a card ages ago… but… Anyhow, here it is, it’s in the mailbox by now and it will get there in time. I hope.
Julkort 5This card is based on the fab sketch from Sketch Saturday
I also would like to share the bookmarks Jonathan did this morning as gifts to his cousins. He has arranged the photo himself, and ordered me to put some “snowflakes” on it – hence the strange white dots… But he was satisfied. LOL!
Jonathans bokmärken And here is my sweet pea, proud of himself after helping me taking care of the snow. He wanted to pose “as the men on TV do when they have shoveled snow…”

Tågets sötaste gubbe

Luciatåget var fantastiskt i år igen. Mina foton lämnar mycket övrigt att önska. Igen. Men ett fint kort på pepparkaksgubben blev det i alla fall. Min finaste lilla pepparkaksgubbe.

The celebration of Lucia was amazing this year – as every year. I got a nice photo of my sweet little gingerbread man. I made this for a Swedish sketch challenge.

Tågets sötaste gubbeJag har gjort den här till Reprints skisstävling som du hittar HÄR. Förutom skissen skulle man också ha med häftklamrar, bling och swirl.

Back to business – I’m trying to get the house decent and everything prepared for Christmas celebrations. I still have quite a few things to do. Didn’t December go awfully quick? We’re making candy tonight and that is my favorite part! Have a lovely evening!

Cute snowman and another candle card

Wohooo! It’s FRIDAY! And the sun is shining (it’s freezing cold though). And I’ve worked hard and got a lot done this morning and feel like I deserve a short break! It’s a good morning!

I’ve continued my snowman stamping lately and thought I’d share my latest card. I totally love this cute family with friends! This card is for the Papertake Weekly Challenge, they have a wonderful sketch this week (again!).

December 3 The stamps are from Firecracker Designs by Pamela, the Shepherd Snow Family. FCD is having a huge inventory blow out sale of selected items – go check it out HERE!

I’ve also done another Candle Card. I gave the first one away yesterday, and it was much appreciated. It ended up at my co workers place, so this one is for our sweet neighbors.

Ljuskort 2Wish you all a lovely Friday and a wonderful weekend!

Candle card and a card box

I’ve been seeing these Candle Cards around in blog land for a while. Thought they were cute and so… But yesterday I saw one in real life when shopping at Ljuva Änglar. And wow, it was totally awesome! I got me the same paper as it was made of and headed home for my own try. I googled for a tutorial and found this

It was really easy and I like the result. I’ll make another one tonight and modify it some.

Ljuskort 1 This card is also inspired by the song Tänd ett ljus (Light a candle) for the 365 cards challenge yesterday.

Today at The Rubber Café Blog there is a really great tutorial for a card holder/box. It’s actually the easiest and quickest one I’ve tried and it’s super easy to alter in different styles after what you want to do. Here is my first take on it.

Eskimo Kisses

One of the mini kits in the A Page in Time December Kit is Basic Grey’s Eskimo Kisses. I did the happy dance when I found out and here are my DT projects with this line.

As usual a double pager. I’ve used a sketch by Pam Callaghan and simply mirrored it on the two pages. The page is about Christmas 2008. Left side is the first half of the day when we are celebrating Jonathan’s birthday, and the right side about the afternoon/evening when we are celebrating Christmas.

1209TesaBGLeft1209TesaBGRight-1As my extra I did a combined Thank You/Merry Christmas card   for one lovely woman – Ulrika. 1209TesaBasicGreyExtraWith the scraps, I made a layout about my favorite room, the library and some more Christmas cards.

Happy Sunday

I was complaining yesterday about the BAAAAAD weather, and I think somebody heard me. Today has been a wonderful day with a blue sky. I’m happy! We’ve been busy around here. Baking more cookies, cleaning the closets and (from my part) scrapping and making a couple of cards. We have a friend of the family turning the big 50 in a near future and here is the card that he will get.

Grattis MatsIt’s based on Get Sketchy’s sketch #18. The bird stamps are from Artistic Outpost, and the papers are Daisy Bucket.

Next card is another Christmas Card. It’s time to send them this week to come, and I am getting ready to do it. This card is based on 365 cards Sketchy Sunday Challenge.

Julkort #4 Thanks for stopping by! And thank you for all sweet comments!

The cutest Gingerbread man in the world.

Dear son and friends was adorable the other night. They were celebrating Lucia in “old style” so they sang mostly old songs and held the celebration outside. It was beautiful, no mother's eyes were dry… Here is my cutie pie!

pepparkaksgubbeAnd here is another cutie pie… sort of… LOL! This is hubby one of those really, really cold and beautiful January days we had early this year. (One think there might never EVER be a day like that again. I’ve forgot how the sky beyond all the clouds looks like!). This is made out of the Fancy Pants line in the A Page in Time December kit. I’ll give you more from it on Monday – then it will be some gorgeous Eskimo Kisses.

1209TesaFancyPantsExtraAaaand a Christmas Card with the sweet Rubber Café stamps. This time I’ve used the Penguin Trio and the sentiment is Season’s greetings 2.

The sketch used is Mojo Monday #116 A little bird told me And now I’m back to see Robbie Williams at Skavland. Yummy! And then I’ll keep my fingers crossed for Erik in the finals at Swedish Idol 2009. Or maybe Calle. We actually ended up voting for both… But that way you can’t go wrong, now can you?

Have the best of weekends!

Peace

What better theme is there for a card a day like this? President Obama got the peace prize earlier today, and that man sure knows how to hold a speech (which is not as easy said about the chairman of the prize committee …) And one may hope that the president will be able to live up to the intention of the prize in the years to come. It’s still a very strange choice though.

Peace is one of the many sentiments in the Shepherd Snow Family, and since the 365 cards challenge today is, yep you got it, peace, it was a done deal for today's card.

December #2 ändradIt’s another diamond fold card, I kind of fell for this folding. Easy and really neat if I may say so. LOL! Here is a link to a good You Tube tutorial

All the stamps are from Firecracker Designs, the Shepherd Snow Family set. Firecracker Designs is having an END OF THE YEAR INVENTORY BLOW OUT SALE going on right now!!! Today the discount increased to 50% off of the in stock sale items which can be found here.

Tonight we’re going to watch dear son as a ginger bread man in the celebration of Lucia. I will cry as usual…

Have a lovely night

Ice Bear Alert

I got a magical sheet of ATC transparencies from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps last week. I really, really love this ice bear.

Isbjörn detalj

I simply glued him down on white cardstock and added some stickles around the edges. Done. I’ve used the beautiful sketch of the week over at Sketchy Colors. I followed it pretty close and used cookie paper (? no idea what you call it in English… *blush*) to make the semi circles. Some flowers, stickles and pearls and it’s done.IsbjörnDo you want a chance to win this transparency  and much much more (like stamps and flowers and more transparencies) head over to the Prickley Pear blog and submit a card in the sketch challenge. Simply scroll down to find the challenge and the prize and everything you need.

Prickley Pear Sketch Challenge

The December Prickley Pear Sketch Challenge is launched. You find all the information HERE.  Here is my take on the sketch:

star card #2 I’ts hard to make it justice on photo, but I must say I’m really pleased with how it turned out. LOL! The sentiment used is called Christmas Seasons and is a lovely one, and a perfect fit with the spellbinders oval die.

I hope to see you play along with the challenge. And you should know that the prize is big. It contains stamps, ATC transparencies,  flowers and more. Check it out:

More info about the prize can be found HERE.

Take care!

What an AMAZING morning!!!

I usually start my mornings with a cup of coffee or tea and reading the mail and blog posts via reader. And I got the most happy news today. I have won not one, but TWO challenges. And I will forever contain myself from saying “well, I never win….” cause this month has proved that wrong!

The first challenge is Ulrika’s Pink Christmas Card Challenge with this card. THANK YOU!!! *Doing the happy dance* She has a great prize, a Chandelier alphabet. I can’t WAIT!

The second is the Sketchy Color Challenge with this purple card.  And I won a super cute stamp in their first ever challenge. Wohoo! *Doing the happy dance again*.  A new sketch is up for this week and a new super cute stamp is up for grabs!

And if you want a chance to win a challenge, maybe you got a little inspiration (LOL)  and have the chance to win this AMAZING prize:

You should check out the Prickley Pear Blog later today. I will also shout out about it and give some inspiration. (Pssst…. It will be a sketch challenge!)

And finally, a card to share. I did this for Reprint’s Bingo Challenge. I’ve used Stickles, different card shape, Ribbon, Flowers and Brads.

Julpost - Reprint The stamps are from Reprint and papers are Bo Bunny. The fold is called Diamond Fold and I found a really great tutorial on You Tube.

A quick one

I made a really quick Christmas card yesterday night in response to the 365 cards challenge Just a fraction. The idea was to use only a piece of a stamped image on your card. I cropped my Hero Arts stamp pretty much and I like the result. I also pimped the image and the Red Wassail paper with red distress stickles.

God JulIt was impossible to get a decent photo of it in the dark yesterday. I HATE the darkness!

And when I’m at it here is the latest layout I did for a COF challenge – to use stitching and paint. I was planning to go wild and crazy with the paint, but I couldn’t. I guess I’m rather controlled right now…Strandkul

And now you can stop reading, cause now I’ll start the wining section! Eeek!!! My eyes went bananas again the other day. They itch, are dry, swollen and look like hell and I’m supposed to “wait”. I got a letter last Friday which says I will get an appointment with the specialist in 2 to 3 months. Wohoo! When I contacted the Dr’s office today I was told to use more of the cortisone and eat more medication and hope it would get better in a day or two. If not, contact them again on Monday. So wait I will, and feel like my eyes are coming out of my skull looking like a 150 year old turtle with freaking VASELINE around it’s eyes. Yay for me.

Sorry!

Purple card

There is a new challenge blog in town. The Sketchy Colors, and it's first challenge is PURPLE. Well, I don’t know how you feel about this, but for me – INTIMIDATING! I’ve been roaming the LSSs for purple patterned paper this week and I think I bought them all… And ended up using none of them… LOL! Instead I trusted my Distress Ink, Dusty Concord and inked up some beautiful Little Yellow Bicycle paper. And I white embossed my new Prickley Pear stamp and inked that one too with Dusty Concord.Howdy PartnerHowdy Partner sidanPrickley Pear Rubber Stamps has started it’s 12 days of Christmas on the blog. If you want to have the chance of winning a beautiful poinsettia stamp and chipboard ornaments, leave a comment HERE!

I will return to work. Have a wonderful day!
