It’s your day to shine

I had a dr’s appointment today. It ended up with me being angry and frustrated as usual. It’s not what she says or does, it’s HOW she says and does it… Anyway, I needed to pamper myself and behold, there was a LSS on the way home… I did a not so quick stop and spent some of my hubbys money. I really felt so much better. LOL! I ended up with three new Magnolia stamps.

Hooray I used them and a sun from a Verve stamps set and did a lot of fuzzy cutting. Papers are all from GCD Studios and the stickers are from SRM Stickers.

I used Mojo Monday’s sketch #145 and I also did this for SRM Stickers June challenge “Here Comes the Sun”.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks a bunch

Hi! Hope your weekend was a great one! Mine sure was! I’ve also had a really, really good and warm and beautiful Monday! I was able to fit in some scrapbooking and card making which made the day even better. I did a layout which I’d like to put on my top ten list of favorite pages. That makes me happy! It’s DT work and I will blog it next week.

I’ll share a card instead. It’s a green card for 365 cards – three shades of green challenge, using the oh so fab sketch of the week over at Card Patterns.

Thanks a bunch

I used some beautiful Pion Design papers (Swedish company!!!) and a lovely flourish from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

Thanks a bunch - detalj

I’m also entering this in Practical Scrappers June Bonus Challenge which is to include something non traditional found in either kitchen or bathroom cabinets. FUN! I used a sheet of gelatin as a vintage window layered over my fabbie stamped image. It didn’t photograph too well, but it’s a real nice touch in real life. Promise.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a lovely evening!

I’m off…

…to spend the day with a nine year old here…

We’ll have a mother-son and Balder (which is the name of that wicked thing) day. It’ll be fun. And I hope I’ll leave that place with some tiny winy little dignity still in place. ;D

And here is a card using the CPS sketch #172, and with a friends theme for the Simon Says Stamp Friend Challenge. More vintage, but this one is a quickie and no straight lines or fuss. Simply glued stuff down. Ha.

Life...

Love this stamp from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. It is so true.

Have a great day! I know I will!

New DT for Handarbeta

Hi folks! We are having a beautiful sunny morning today. It’s the last day at daycare for my dear son, then he’ll start his real summer holiday. He is excited, cause we are going to Liseberg (which is an amusement park in Gothenburg) tomorrow. Just the two of us. I’m excited too, but not as much if you get the point…

I have great news today! I was asked to join the fun and creative DT ladies over at Handarbeta! Wohoo!

I got a goodie bag filled with beautiful vintage stuff last week and have had some fun the last couple of days to be able to make my first blog post today. The papers are from Melissa Frances. Yummy!!! All the info about products used can be found on the Handarbeta Blog.

Language of flowers

I used the fab sketch #69 over at Card Patterns. LOVE this sketch, so much fun!!!

Detail with the beautiful pin – I’m in love with this pin! LOL!

HejNext card is based on the lovely sketch #20 from Our Creative Corner.   I do wish me the big scalloped edge punch, but a button, pen and a scissors works as well…

Thanks for letting me share!

Have a great day!

Flower pot card

I got a beautiful flower pot card from Li-bee ti a while ago and I’ve been planning to make one ever since. And yesterday I finally did.

Just becauseIt’s based on Kazan’s sketch # 55 over at 2Sketches4You and I also made it for a flower challenge, where one was to use 7 different flowers or 7 flowers in different colors, and I never came close to manage doing that. But I like the card  (which I can’t say of my prototype with 7 different colored flowers! LOL).

I’m working from home today, and took a short break. Better get back to business. I’ll be back tomorrow with a couple of cards and a little surprise. Take care!

A star is born and two “shout outs” for new blogs!

It’s Sunday again and another Super Sketchy Sunday with 365 cards.

And a new sponsor for this week is Lia Stampz! She makes the most adorable digis you can imagine!

And here is the sketch for the week:

I really liked the sketch this week. It’s so much fun with many elements! And here is my take with the cute Twink stamp.

A star is bornSince my sewing machine behaved the other day when I made this, I thought I’d let it work some more, and lookie, it is fighting for it’s life!  Check out the fab flower! It’s another one by the hands of Li-bee ti!

I’ve also used some more of the fantastic SRM Stickers and will enter this card in Jenny’s fun sticker challenge over at ..wee Memories..

Next up is my MOM! she finally took the plunge and started a blog. I think I have some real good influence on her, started with getting her trapped in card making, and now she is quickly developing an addiction for challenges and blogging. If you want to welcome her to blog land you can find her HERE.

Have a lovely Sunday and be sure to pop over to the 365 cards blog and take a look at all the cuteness from the DT!

Cyber Crop and a Wohoo!!!

There is a cyber crop  going on over at Svensk Scrapbooking with loads of fun and inspiring challenges. I wont be able to play much, but I did go home early from work today… ehhhh…. Well, I did work 60 hours this week, so I thought I was entitled to. Period. So I’ve made one layout and one card this afternoon.

På marsch mot...The challenge was to be inspired by the word “Summer Holliday”. And this is my dear son, playing his clarinet in the orchestra leading the school to church where the graduation ceremony was held last Friday. The title reads “On the march towards summer holliday”.

The card challenge was to be inspired by the football – round shaped card in only black and white. That was a tough one, I tell ya’!

MomThe stamps are from The Rubber Café and pimped with some glossy accent (sentiment) and pearls (flowers).

And over to my Wohoo!!! I got this in my mail today:

And on page 55 I found my sympathy card!!!

For every tearMy first published card in an American magazine and I’m thrilled. It’s also so much fun it’s Basic Grey papers  and a Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps stamp on it – my favorites!!! (sorry for bad photo, it’s taken in the middle of the winter with no light…)

Have a wonderful Friday night!

Ode to a dying sewing machine

I have had a ten year long loving relationship with a Bernina –68. She used to belong to my grandmother who cherished her dearly, being one of her big investments in life, back then 1968. When granny died I had the honor to take over custody. I have not been sewing much, but some curtains, a couple of quilted blankets, you know the drill… And when I started scrapbooking three years ago she became one of my most used tools. She is old and tired and will not last for long according to the sewing machine doctor. Hence the theme of my latest layout.

Ode I thought I’d sew some on it, and since she is chewing almost everything I put under her needle I thought I’d end up with some interesting traces of her dying process. But nope… LOL! She behaved veeery well. I have some hidden journaling to document some of the fun and not so fun parts of our life together. I used some of my GCD goodies and the sketch from Sketchy Thursday’s GDT challenge.

I made a card out of the scraps, based on Laura’s sketch #54 over at 2Sketches4You. I also made today’s 365 cards challenge – Stripes and bold colors with a twist – since we in the DT got loads of great stickers from SRM stickers who is sponsoring this week.

Youre the bestI’m heading back to work, and later this afternoon I’m off for a dentist’s appointment. Yikes! It’s only a check up and I’ve been flossing like a mad woman the last three months. Soooo keep your fingers crossed I’ll do fine!

PPRS Sketch Challenge and a PIF!

It’s time for a new Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps Sketch Challenge.

It comes with a great sketch and a FAB prize! All info can be found HERE.

And this is my take:

June sketchThe stamp used is from the Mainly Flowers half sheet of rubber and embossed with sparkling purple  PK Glitz embossing powder. The flowers looks more like peach than pink on the photo, but my PS would not help me out with it, so imagine the flowers as more pink, please!

You have until Tuesday 22nd to make your card and link it to THIS post on the Prickley Pear Blog.

Now over to the PIF and RAK business! I got this fabbie PIF card and RAK from Amy yesterday.

She is participating in a PIF with cards, the idea being that we who makes lots of cards also should be better at sending them! Anyway, the idea of getting an Amy card as well as getting some of mine out sounded great. So now it’s my turn to pay it forward.  Here is how it works:

♥♥Pay It Forward for Creative People♥♥

I hereby promise to send something handmade to the first 5 people who leave a comment that they want to participate in the PIF challenge. In turn, they promise to post this and send something they made to the first 5 posters on their blog. I promise that your Items will be received before the end of July 2010.

Will you join me in the fun?

A Page in Time June kit

New week, and it starts great with sun and a free day home with the kid. I have a loooong post today due to many projects, so please bear with me. I have been working with the A Page in Time  Pink Paislee 365 degrees kit this month. (The kit also includes MME – So Sophie and Fancy Pants – LFLS) and I thought I’d share what I’ve done with it – 1 double page layout, 2 single pages and 2 cards (and that is only 1 third of the full kit…).

Stor Konsert_redigerad-1 This is dear son on the big concert. Sooo cute, and so proud of himself. I cried and was blown away by the total focus and excitement of the task. The sound? Terrible!!! LOL! The layout is based on a sketch from Sketchy Thursdays.

0610TesaPPExtra_redigerad-1 I’m trying to scrap some old photos every now and again, and these are from J’s first day at School.

0610BiljardslagetThis one didn’t end up like I imagined it… Oh well. Notice the awesome crochet flower! I got it from Li-bee ti and I love it!

0610Capture the momentI loved the blue colors in this kit, even though with the double sides, I could as well have gone red/orange/yellow, or as here green… This card is based on the Sunday Sketch and Stamp’s sketch #30.   And I also did today’s 365 cards challenge – Fun with fabric – with a twist. The twist – to stamp on the fabric. I used my beloved Timpster flower dies and cut out some canvas fabric flowers and stamped and inked the edges.

And the last one, a CAS based on the Clean & Simple Stamping sketch #94.

0610Carpediem Thanks for stopping by. Have a great new week!

Midsummer last year

Second post today, if you are looking for my Super Sketchy Sunday post it’s HERE. When my family went home earlier today, I head straight to my scrap desk. The PILE of GCD studio goodies I got on Friday (here) was calling my name. I did a layout and I tried to use lots of embellies…. I didn’t really manage that, but I am happy with how this one came out.

På topp

It’s my brother and my niece on Midsummer celebration last year. I’ve used the Sketchy Thursdays 6.10 sketch.

It’s a great one!    I really liked the idea of text on the photo and tried working some with my oh so neglected ps elements. It worked out fine, and the text is more visual IRL.

Need to make some dinner. Have a really nice Sunday folks!

The sponsor this week is SRM stickers. They have the most lovely sheets of stickers around for every occasion.

And of course we  have a super fun sketch made by Pam to play with!

And here is my take on it:

I love you so much

Pop over to the 365 cards blog and check out the fab creations of the DT and I hope you will play along!

Have a great Sunday!

Made with love

We’ve had a beautiful day today. It started really great with a total surprise in the morning when the door bell rang and I found the postal service outside the door with a big and HEAVY package from GCD studios. I won a challenge over at scrapbook.com hosted by Pam Callaghan some time ago, and the first prize package got lost in the mail. So I guess they wanted to compensate me for the long waiting. And they sure did…

GCD1GCD2 GCD3-1I’m spechless. It’s the complete HomespunChic collection  (sorry for bad photos!)  Wohoo!!!

I have guests staying the whole weekend and absolutely no time, but I stole 30 minutes (while my mom and MIL took a nap!)  to be able to play with my new stuff. I made a card with the  Friday Sketchers sketch  #106

Made with loveLove the colors and all the fun embellies. I guess there will be a lot of Homespun Chick on this blog in the future.

Have a really, really great weekend folks!

Friend

Hi folks! A quick one, away from the vacuum cleaner… My parents and MIL will arrive in a couple of hours and I’m trying hard to get the house in shape for that. Phew.

Today’s card is based on Kazan’s sketch #54 over at 2Sketches4You and I’ve also tried to meet today’s 365 cards challenge repetition – to use a word and an image three or more times on the card.Friend Better get back to the cleaning business!

Have a great Thursday and keep your fingers crossed we will have nice weather tomorrow when dear son finish third grade. He will be playing in the marching orchestra and he is sooooo excited…

Right Now!

Ok, second post for today, but it’s cause the mojo hit me real hard when I got home from work today and I saw the goodies I brought back from Stockholm yesterday. Like the Timpster’s Sizzix flower dies…. Yummy!!!

Just Nu!This page is made for the challenge Li-bee ti gave me. I’ve been procrastinating it cause I thought it was DIFFICULT! She gave me the color combo from hell – kraft, orange and purple… But it ended up really great in my own humble opinion… Here is the full challenge:

Theme - me, myself, I: Well, I decided it was about time to make a right now page with a new photo. Ok, it’s not a good photo, but it’s like I feel right now, so I thought it was appropriate…

Sketch - anything goes. And I choose my fav sketch blog – Sketchy Thursdays. This week’s sketch was awesome, only wish I could go somewhat more wild and crazy, but it’s so not me.

Colors - you must use craft, purple & orange (also shaeds of those colors). Holy Cow!

Thecnique - sewing/stitching: Did that!!!

Tools/supply - No glimmer (bling is okay), use fabric:  I used some bling brads, but it should be ok. And my flowers are all canvas fabric, cut out with the sizzix die, stamped and inked with some distress ink. Love  how they came out!
