Bluebirds

Hi!!!!

I have a blue card with bluebirds to share today. It’s based on this week’s Card Patterns’ sketch #80. It’s a great one!!!

BluebirdI’ve used a lot of glossy accent on the bird and covered it all with some glimmer mist AND added some stickles on the roses. So this is a shimmering card and I really like how it came out. Here is what the sketch looks like:

Late last night I also finished a layout I’ve been struggling with for a while. Well. I don’t know. I love the papers and colors. I did try to go for a clean and simple look, using a few embellies. But there is something wrong. Or what do you think??? Anyway it’s my dear son three years ago playing miniature golf on our vacation. He looked so big on this photo and I remember the feelings when I saw it for the first time. My baby wasn’t a baby anymore.

En putt

Isn’t the sentiment stickers – I did it – just perfect??? It’s from SRM Stickers. This is for Sketchy Thursdays’  Guest DT challenge. Here is the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by and checking my stuff out! Have a great Wednesday!

Prickley Pear Blog Hop – day 3!!!

Welcome to the Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps  Blog Hop!

We have 4 beautiful new autumn and winter/Christmas sets we are so pleased to announce! It’s the Cardinal, Pumpkins, Ornaments and Trees Beautiful CLEAR stamp sets!

Today’s release is the ORNAMENTS set!!!

You can win this set AND the coordinated die if you:

Become a follower and leave a comment here on my blog and on the Prickley Pear Blog . For each comment you get one ticket to the drawing!

For each release, you’ll have 2 days to participate…you’ll have until midnight the night AFTER the release day to enter comments. Please just one comment per blog.

It’s about time to see these awesome stamps in action! I’ve made a couple of cards and a layout. First up is a clean and simple Christmas card:

Julkort 1The ornament is cut out with the die and then stamped and clear embossed on Basic Straw cardstock. I then inked it up with Distress ink, Aged mahogany.  It’s mounted with 3d foam and I love how it came out!!!

Grangeneral The photo is from last year’s tree decoration.  EVERY year I try to get a decent photo of this moment, but it’s like a curse. I never ever succeed. But it doesn’t matter that the photo is out of focus, the feeling is there! I used the die and one of the ornament stamps to make a banner, and I used one of the circles to make my own patterned paper.

I used the beautiful Stuck?! Sketches Bonus sketch #1 for this page.

And for my final card, I decided to go with more bright and clear colors – using some lovely Bo Bunny papers from last year.

Julkort 2The sentiment is beautiful!!!!

I used Mojo Monday sketch 155 for this one. At once I saw the sketch I saw the use of the ornament and sentiment on my card. It came together in no time yesterday. To make it more fun, I layered some colorful ribbon, pompoms and lace. Here is the great sketch:

I hope you have enjoyed my samples and want to take your chance of winning! And if you haven’t been visiting the Prickley Pear Blog and looked at Nicole’s samples yet, be sure to do so!!!   Thank you so much for stopping by and playing along!!!

New Stamps – and some oldies!!!

Hi folks! This week Prickley Pear releases four new fab clear stamp sets with coordinating dies. I’ll show you “my” set and samples tomorrow. Today you have the chance of winning the gorgeous Cardinal set and die over at the Prickley Pear Blog. While waiting for my turn, I had to play with some of my other PPRS stamps. Like my new Hot Air Balloon set.

Fly with me ballong Aren’t the stamp simply gorgeous!?!  This is a “free” interpretation of this week’s CPS sketch.

The set has a beautiful airplane too. I made a super clean and simple card and I loooove how it came out. It’s only stamps and cardstock, but sometimes it’s enough!

fly with me flygplanBut I must confess, when I had that one done yesterday night, I had an itching feeling in my fingers. It was the layering addiction. Sooooo I made another card for Svensk Scrapbooking’s embossing challenge. Lot’s of dry and heat embossing on this one. I love how the background stamp turned out. I clear embossed an old music paper (Mozart, sorry!!!) with the background stamp and then ironed it so that the embossing sort of disappeared. All the six stamps used are from Prickley Pear.

Thinking of you emboss I hope you check back tomorrow for the release of a new fun and versatile clear stamp set and die.

Take care and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Saturday!!!

I’m so glad it’s finally Saturday. I’ve had one busy week with the University starting for a new year. I have my last lecture today, so I’m not all done with course introductions just yet. It will be so great by lunch time. Soooo this week has been most work, a little scrapbooking and a minimum of blogging. I’m far behind on visiting my friends… Sorry for that! I’ll be visiting shortly. Like after lunch! LOL!

I wanted to share two projects done during the week. First up is a card. I received a RAK Tuesday from a swapping friend – Lisa.  It warmed my heart and I totally love the old handmade beautiful lace and cute buttons!!! So I made her a thank you card.

Tack LIt’s based on this weeks CPS sketch. I couldn’t keep it as clean and simple… LOL! The beautiful flourish stamp is from Prickley Pear rubber stamps, and the gorgeous paper is front and back from an old October Afternoon I’ve been hoarding for like two years or maybe more. LOVE it!!!

Next up is a layout made for Scrap-Perra’s September challenge . It’s a fun recipe challenge where one is to use: 1 cardstock, 2 photos, 3 ribbons or lace, 4 different text types, 5 brads, 6 patterned papers, 7 flowers, 8 leaves, 9 buttons and 10 pearls or rhinestones. I managed, but it took quite a bit of thinking!!!

Se upp! And I made it even more difficult for me choosing winter pics. I don’t often use flowers with these… lol. But I think the snow and the cold could use some bling and some flowers. The AMAZING red flower is one I got a while back as a RAK from a mysterious secret sender. I finally could move on and use it. I’ve had it on my desk for quite some time, just looking at it. It’s soooo beautiful!

Have a great day all and thanks for stopping by!!!
