Two more lifted cards

I know, not a very exciting title of this post, but I sat like ten minutes with a total blank and finally gave up. This is exactly what this post will be about. Two lifted cards.

The first one is a lift of amazing clean and simple goddess Sophie for day 363 at 365 cards.

Take Flight

Paper: Bazzill Kraft, Fancy Pants.
Ink: Versa Fine
Stamps: Butterflies – Hero Arts, Sentiment- Papertrey Ink
Decos etc: CB Embossing, Copic Markers.

I lifted the craft card base, the embossing and the embellishments on a row, even though I flipped it. Here is Sophie’s beautiful card:

Today our challenge is to lift Vicky and her clean lined and soft colors style. I love her style, the cards are always so very well balanced!

Tesa_Feb04

Papers: Bazzill, Dream Street Papers
Stamps: A little bird told me setFirecracker Designs by Pamela
Ink: Memento, Distress Ink
Decos etc: Spellbinders, stickles, ribbon from my stash.

I lifted pretty much the whole design. I love Vicky’s card, and her beautiful color scheme which I had to force myself not to follow. Here is her card:

Sigh. This was the last of the DT signature Style challenges over at 365 cards. It’s been FUN! But I’m sure Pam has a lot of new fun stuff up her sleeves, in the new year to begin on Monday.

And finally – my little blog candy. The winner is…… my mum! Congratulations! Grattis Mamma!

Aaannnddd - a little toot before I end this. I had my baby card from yesterday published on the Cards Blog. Wohoo! There are a load of awesome shaped cards - among them Amy's , the one that I got my inspiration from. Woot!

Have a great weekend!

In the pursuit of Amy’s style

Yesterday, the inspiration at the 365 cards blog came from the oh so talented Amy, who has this awesome fun, whimsical, cute and yet clean style. Rose said she wanted to grow up and become just like Amy, and I couldn’t agree more. Here is my go at it:

Grattis Martin

Papers: Bazzill, October Afternoon, Making Memories
Stamp: DigiStamp Boutique
Decos: Twine, silver thread, Adornit letters, Provo Craft tag die, Copic markers.

This card is for my co worker who had a baby boy almost a month ago, and yesterday I went shopping clothes from all of us in the department. I LOVE shopping baby clothes! The package I got from the store was not very babyish, so I thought I’d sheer it up with a colorful card. This challenge was perfect and here is the end result:

Grattis Martin paketet

Heheee, I got A LOT of clothes…  They wouldn’t even fit in one bag, so I tied the two together with a fab SEI ribbon, and added the card and a flower.  The card to lift was this fun and happy card…

….and I went with the yellow polka dot pattern and the shaped card concept. I’m also entering my card in the fun shaped card challenge over at CARDS blog. Last minute…

And hey – it’s FRIDAY!!!! Wohoo! And besides all the good things that usually comes with Fridays, it’s also the last chance to enter my Blog Candy. You can do it HERE. Have a great day!

Tuesday Trigger

The TT over at Moxie Fab World was out of this world this week. Check THIS card out! So much to love! I ended up pretty much lifting the card, but not beeing able to keep it as clean and classy as the original. Love the brad and bow, I think that one came out really nice with that yellow gem in the middle.

Spread your wings - använd

Papers: Bazzill, Heidi Swapp

Stamps: Bird - Firecracker Designs by Pamela, Sentiment - Papertrey Ink

Ink: Versa Fine

Decos and tools: MS edge punch, Kaiser

I was challenged by sweet Anna to do a Joy Fold Card before Sunday. Check her card out HERE, it's too cute. And who am I to deny a challenge??? I combined it with yesterday's 365 card's challenge - to lift Kristie's contemporary style. I went to my favorite shoe designer - Valentino (I will never ever wear Valentino shoes, but they are AMAZING) and found stuff like THIS , and THIS, and THIS. Hence the black, the bow and the butterflies. I lifted Kristie's square design and the sentiment as main image.

Aaaand, I'm also entering it into the fun Moxie Fab World Olympics of Stamping Challenge, theme LOVE. Did a lot of stamping on this one!

Joy Fold Card

And the inside, sorry for bad photography, my hands turned into ICE while trying to get these. I simply didn't have it in me to take more photos to get a better shot...

Fresh and vibrant á la Audrey

Bug hug detalj … I don’t know if I can live up to that description, but I did try. Today it’s Audrey and her style and card that is up for lift at 365 cards. She has this beautiful fresh, bold and vibrant style and it was hard trying to do that. I did have a bold and vibrant paper from October Afternoon so I started out with that and some stamping.

Papers: Bazzill, October Afternoon
Stamps: Prickley Pear Rubber StampsPolka dot circle, hÄnglar och stÄnglar – sentiment and girl, Prima – Corner stamp and music, Firecracker Designs by PamelaButter/Dragon fly.
Ink: Versa Fine, Distress ink.

I lifted a lot – the striped patterned paper, the corner stamps, the music, the cut out stamped image.  And here is the beautiful card by Audrey that I tried to lift:

Going Vintage Gloria Style

One fantabulous sketch week over at 365 cards is followed by an even more fantabulous lift week. It’s like Christmas Eve two weeks in a row. The challenges this week will be to lift the styles and cards of the DT. First up is Gloria with her clean and elegant vintage style. The card to lift is this beauty:

It’s fantastic. In my card, I didn’t even try go in the masculine direction – don’t have it in me I think, instead I did a feminine card, but followed the blue and distressed beige color scheme, and the card design. I also used a ticket as decoration. Vintage_redigerad-1

Papers: Fancy Pants, Bazzill, old book pages

Stamp: Prickley Pear Rubber StampsVintage Musical Figures
Ink: Distress Ink – Broken China, Faded Jeans
Decos: Ticket – Tim Holtz, Angel – YouDo, Bling – Zva, Brad – American Crafts, ribbon and lace from my stash. Clear embossing powder - Ranger

I got the background paper (it’s an old Fancy Pants) from sweet Anna – she remembered that this is one of my all time favorite papers and I got 3 sheets from her. I think the soft pattern and that rich teal color is wonderful. Thanks again, Anna!!!

Did you notice the paper flower? I saw these amazingly beautiful homemade vintage flowers on some fantastic cards made by Janice earlier this week. Check those cards out HERE. I simply had to try it out. She kindly pointed me in the direction of Dawn McVey’s video tutorial HERE.

Vintage detalj I gave my flower a shower of glimmer mist to follow the color scheme.

Thanks for the inspiration, Gloria!

Have a lovely day!

Two Fine Boys and a small Blog Candy

Hi folks! Monday morning and the snowing has begun - AGAIN. Sorry if there is a lot of weather talk going on, but it pretty much gets to me... I'm at work, taking a coffee break and trying to rest my poor brain some. I hate conclusions. Scheeez, one is supposed to come up with wise things... yeah, sure.

I made a layout this weekend with my son and nephew (yeah, I know, it's same, same but different, but I can't get enough of the cuteness of Sixten and Jonathan). When I saw my dear son carrying his cousin like this I went Ahhhhh, you are soooo CUTE! But that was not ok by my son. He would not tolerate being called CUTE. Yick! Then I tried oh, well, you are two cool guys. Didn't work either. He was not CHILLY. Period. We could finally settle with the word FINE, if I absolutly HAD to call them something other than their name. Things was so much easier when he was younger and simply did as told and was ok with whatever I called him (and you should know I've had plenty of names for him). Journaling about this is on the hidden tag.

The design is based on a fab sketch brought to us by Kamilla on Svensk Scrapbooking, A Swedish forum. This is one rare occasion where I'm pretty pleased with how this came out. I like the paper (Marakesh, Basic Grey), and the stamped swirls (from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps) in the corners turned out nice.

Now over to the Blog Candy!
I'm so happy that so many of you take the time to visit my blog and leave such sweet comments! And the last couple of weeks, there have also been quite a few new followers. I'm truly honored about that and I thought I'd give some back to you. I have a A Page in Time February Kit (check it out HERE, I made this and this -among other things- with it) and a little surprise for you. So if you are a follower and want to lay your hands on my Blog Candy, leave a comment by Friday on this post and I'll draw a random winner on Saturday.

Have a fine day!

Going green

We woke up to a sunny day today. It was pure magic after two days of snow storms. It is still very windy and ice cold, but nice to look at the white untouched snow outside the window. (Did throw dear son and friend out though…).

I made a card for Super Sketchy Sunday at 365 cards early this morning. While white is nice, I miss GREEN, so I  made a green card. Tesa_Feb03

Papers: Ladybug and friends, Bazzill
Stamp: Firecracker DesignsA little bird told me set
Ink: Distress ink, Peeled Paint
Decos and other: Spellbinders Fleur de lis, Ribbon and Clear buttons.

I did it!

I managed to follow the whole week of challenges over at 365 cards! Wohoo! The week has been so much fun with all sketches, FAB sketches. And since hubby and son have been glued down in front of the Olympics on TV, I’ve had some time by my self. Yesterday’s sketch was brought to us by Sophie and here it is:

And here is my take: A welcome to the world card for a friend to the family who had an adorable baby daughter .Cornelia

Patterned papers: Fancy Pants
Stamp: Prickley Pear RubberstampsSmall Rattle
Ink: Versa Fine, Distress Ink
Decos: Star from Inkido, MS Edge Punch, Stickles, Ribbon from my stash

Today’s sketch is made by Vicky and has a clean and beautiful design, just as Sophie’s.

Tesa_Feb02

Papers: Basic Grey - Origins
Stamps: Firecracker DesignsA little bird told Me
Ink: Versa Fine, Distress Ink
Decos: MS Edge Punch, ribbons from my stash

The sentiment didn’t photograph very well, I added some sakura glitter pen to it, and it shines and actually pops IRL. And yes, I know the two cards ended up somewhat similar…

Today I will be cleaning the house, keeping the fire burning and hate the snow.

Romantic Lyrics – it’s a FCD Blog Hop

Hi peeps! It is that time of the month – the time for a Firecracker Designs Blog Hop. This month the theme is Romantic Lyrics – to create something inspired by one of our favorite love songs. FUN! More info about the Blog Hop will follow at the end of this post.

Now over to my card for today. I knew right away what song I wanted to use. I saw Walk the line a couple of months ago (yeah, I know, but I usually get to see the movies like two years later…) and I was totally hooked on Johnny Cash. I loved him before, but now, wow… And he has this song that is soooo moving: Rose of my Heart. Aaaand I happen to have THE most magnificent Rose stamp from FCD.

Jan 8 Both the rose and the wonderful sentiment is part of the Paper Roses set. I’ve incorporated quite a few black details as a tribute to the Man in Black but kept the embellishment simple, letting the beautiful stamp get the most of the attention.

Now over to the blog hop info.

******************************

The official start time of this Hop is Friday, at 8:00 AM (EST). If you arrived early, please be patient as all the links may not be live yet.

This is a “circular blog hop” where the only beginning is wherever you start!! You will know you are at the end of your blog hop when you’ve come back to the blog you’ve started from! (It’s not a huge circle…so it should be easy to remember where you started.)

The winner will be chosen from a mystery blog hostess that we don’t even know who it will be until the hop is over…so that’s why you’ll want to leave a comment on EVERY blog, so you don’t miss out!

**To find out if you’ve won… you will be contacted by Pamela via e-mail (so be sure to leave it with your comment.) and you can also find out on Pamela’s blog after the blog hop ends on Mon, at 8:00 PM (EST).**

Now, to continue the circle, you will need to hop on over to

~~* KARYN *~~

and keep going until you’ve come back to where you’ve started! Thanks so much for playing along with us and we hope you have a great time!

Thanks for joining us!!!

Trying that CAS again

Amy made the most lovely sketch for the challenge over at 365 cards. And her card! WOW! Check it out here! I was blocked by the amazing papers, colors and patterns and the total beauty of her card at first, but decided to go the opposite direction. Keep it simple. Use a black background.  And use my new Geisha stamp from Prickley Pear Rubberstamps  that I colored up a while ago.Geisha The circle is made out of Liquid Pearls, and I used some of that as details on her Kimono as well. It’s a terrible weather around here today, so even though I was just outside the door, under the roof, the snow came in and made white dots on my photo. Oh well. Also, I love the corner punch, and the hint of the inside red in the upper right corner, but it didn’t photograph that well.

This was a quick fix, took me like ten minutes since the stamp was all done. And now it’s back to work. It will be a long day!

Take care!

Jonathan is a very happy and proud cousin to Sixten, 6 weeks. He loves the fact that there is another boy in the family, and the fact that Sixten is sooooo adorable. Here is a page I did last night about their first meeting.2 coola killar I made this for a lift challenge over at sb.com. I chose this page.  And out of the scraps I did this card for Kristie’s sketch over at 365 cards. They have a fantastic sketch week going on!!!Fjärilskort Back to work! Have a great day!

Tuesday Therapy

I’ve had one of those days. Got really sad news at work and have been feeling blue all day. I got stuck with a freaking stupid text and had an unconstructive and negative encounter with a student. That was my day. Then I went home and spent half an hour in my scrap room before dinner. Pure therapy. I must say I feel a lot better now, still blue though. Needs another hour or so with some paper and ribbon I think…

365 cards is having a Seven Sketches Week. I love sketches! Especially these sketches! Yesterday it was Gloria who shared a great sketch and a wonderful card (go check it out here). I really liked the design on this one, and thought it would work just as fine as a layout – so I did a photo card that the recipient can put in her 6x6 album.Feb 6 The papers are beautiful Fancy Pants and all the stamps are from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

Today’s sketch artist is Audrey. Another great design and awesome sample card! I really loved making this one, got me thinking of nice things! Feb 7 Here are more of the new beautiful Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps

Thanks for stopping by! Have a lovely day/night. Go Helena Johnsson!!!

Do you feel the spring in the air?

I don’t. We have way to much winter going on. But it does feel like spring in my craft room. :D Here is a quick card I did yesterday night while hubby was inhaling the Olympics. Love these new spring themed stamps from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

2010 feb 14_4850_redigerad-1 The patterned paper is amazing BG Sugar Rush. I added some Glossy Accent on the berries and some red stickles in the lace. Other than that, I kept it clean and simple.

Have a wonderful day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

We’re back from a weekend at my parents house. I’ve met my nephew for the first time and we’ve been celebrating my mom who turned 60 this past week. We’ve had a wonderful time and here is a photo of my loved ones. 2010 feb 13_4741_redigerad-1 I also have a card to share. Not a Valentine’s card though… :D It started out as a take on the Super Sketchy Sunday challenge over at 365 cards, but it took on a life of it’s own... All the elements are there, only slightly moved  some. And the circle ended up as a semi circle. Feb 1 Another great sentiment and stamp from Firecracker Designs. The set is called A Little Bird Told Me…

Have a lovely Sunday!

A Page in Time February Kit wrap up

I’m home with son today. He took the second flu shot Monday and he does NOT feel good. I’m trying to work to the sound of Cartoon Network…

This past week I’ve been working with the February Kit from A Page in Time. I’ve already shared my Pink Paislee double page here, and here is the second, done with 7 Gypsies Venice paper. LOVE these papers.

Vår LondonresaI was inspired by the fab design of THIS page, found on sb.com.  The page are about our vacation in London 10 years ago. Didn’t scrap back then… still have a lot to catch up…

Here are a couple of cards I did with the scraps. The first one is based on Laura’s sketch #45.

Feb 4

And this second one is for 365 card’s white space challenge.

Feb 3 Stamps used on both cards are the new arrivals from PrickleyPear Rubber Stamps. They did it again!

Finally I also did a card and treat box out of the Pink Paislee scraps.

0210TesaPinkPaisleeExtra The cute little treat box is made out of the template and tutorial made by Helen Croft. You can find it HERE. Soooo easy, and the result is really great. I’ve used distress ink on the edges, ribbon and scallopes, so this is for 365 card’s Tuesday Trio.

Back to work, or rather, to feed my son THEN back to work. Have a great day!

Grattis Mamma!!!

Jag önskar dig en underbar födelsedag! Vi ses på fredag!

Mammas cupcake My sweet mum turns 60 today! Hurray! We will celebrate her this weekend but today she got her own cupcake in the mail. More presents on Friday!

I’ve seen a lot of cupcakes on the net lately and when I search for a tutorial I found a great one HERE. It’s in Swedish, but you should check it out. It’s out of this world. My take is just a lame excuse, but I hope mum will like it. I forgot to take a photo of the tag attached to the pink berry on the top. Oh well.

Lovely Weekend!

I’ve had a good weekend, with one whole day dedicated to friends and scrapbooking. There isn’t much more a girl like me could wish for (except the New York trip, the Gazelle and finishing my thesis…). It was fun, and it was ages since we all – Ulrika, Diane, Anna, Heléne - met up last. We also had the pleasure of meeting adorable Axel, 6 weeks. I love the smell of babies!   Anyhooo. I’m not known to be able to scrap much in company, but I did manage to make a card and a layout.

Valentines 8Yes, I’ve used these stamps before… But they ARE my favorites, and Valentine’s day is just around the corner! *smile* The dog is Labrador Love, the sentiment is one of great but small sentiments included in Just My Type, both from The Rubber Café. The card is a Flip Flop Flag card, made for a challenge held by Lisa over at The Rubber Café Blog. You can find the tutorial HERE, and the inside of my card HERE.

Now over to the layout. I’ve used the Pink Paislee Papers from A Page in Time February kit. Love these papers. The photos are from my nephew Sixten’s first month. He is growing, he has doubled his size in one month, but it’s really crazy thinking he is not even supposed to be born yet!

0210TesaPinkPaisleeHela Isn’t he CUTE!!! I’ll meet him for the first time next weekend, when the whole family will meet up to celebrate my mum who turns 60 tomorrow!  See you!

Just my Type!

Hi folks! Hope you are enjoying a good weekend with some time put aside for crafting! I’m substituting for Sarah today over at the Rubber Café Blog, she is in the middle of moving. I wish her a good move and a great scrap space at the new place!

I have a Just my Type card to share. I colored it red, inspired by a card by Sarah. At once I saw her card a while ago, I knew the typewriter had to be red sometime in the future. :) The heart is covered with red glitter and then a coat of Glossy Accent. It didn’t photograph well, but I can assure you the heart really pops IRL. Januari 6b

The design is based on the beautiful sketch of the week from Get Sketchy. I’ve also tried the day 342 – That’s Familiar challenge over at 365 cards. The challenge was to use a part of the stamp used on the outside on the inside.   I cut a circle in a note it paper with my circle Nestability and used it as a mask, so that only a little part of the Just my Type stamp ended up on my journaling spot. Januari 6 insidaI better head back to the cleaning business. I’m having the girls over tomorrow, and I need to make the house a little bit cleaner (I don’t want them to turn around in the door...)

Thanks for stopping by!

Labrador Love

Mondays are my day to blog over at The Rubber Café Blog and for this week, I continued with the small sized cards - 4x4. And when I was at it, I made a set with similar cards based on the same design and set of stamps. The design is from this week’s sketch at Friday Sketchers. I made a simple holder and tied it together with a ribbon.Valentine kit 1 kopiera Valentine kit 2The stamps used are from the Labrador Love set which includes the two adorable labs and the “I wuff you!” sentiment used on the card holder (and the set has yet another sentiment not used here). The small sentiments are from the Just my Type set.

I stamped the labs four times each, once on the patterned paper, once on kraft cardstock and twice on white cardstock. Then I cut them out and paper pieced them to make a 3D effect, and I also popped them on 3D foam. I inked the edges on the craft puppies to give them some shadow. To make the cards sparkle some I added red stickles and red rhinestones. I've tried to use the color scheme of day 338 at 365 cards. Here are close ups on the cards.Valentine kit 3 Valentine kit 4Valentine kit 5If you would like to see more of The Rubber Café stamps, be sure to pop by The Rubber Café Blog and the see what the DT is up to.

Have a lovely new week!
