Super Sketchy Sunday

Happy Sunday!
Pam has a fun new sketch for us today over at 365 Cards.

The sponsor this week is Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and More.

And here is my take, using the English Tea Cup:

***

We had a lovely day yesterday. My boy was overly excited by all the 8 (!!!) dogs. He sure wanted to take one of the babies home!

I'd love to have a dog. I miss our Westie. Very much. But... I've promised dear son we'll get a dog when hubby gets his pension. Dear son is not very satisfied... :)

***

Here is a second layout from the Darkroom Door gig. I love the colors on this. All the grey and then the little red lady bug, a sign of spring.

The beautiful stamps are from the Wildflower vol. 2 set. I stamped them in black and then covered it with glossy accent. You can find a couple of detail shots HERE. Other Darkroom Door products used are: Journal Stamps, Viva La Flora - Montage and Wilderness Wordstrip.

We are going home today, leaving the kid with his grandparents for a week. He will have a great time, meeting the cousins, playing bowling, going to the movies and get spoiled rotten. I, on the other hand, will have an EMPTY house. I will manage, but... LOL!

Take care and thanks for stopping by. Hope you all have a beautiful Sunday!

Darkroom Door Guest Artist!

Hi folks!
I'm having a lovely weekend at my parents with my family. We are going to visit my cousin in a bit to see her new house and her 5 new puppies (they opened their eyes yesterday!!!) and pat her new baby belly. It will be a wonderful day! :):):)

I have the honor to be a Guest Artist for Darkroom Door this week. I have 9 projects on their blog right now. I thought I'd share one of the layouts (my personal favorite!) that was published on Thursday.

The stamp set used is the Hello Baby vol. 2 set. LOOOVE the hands!!! :):):) And thought they were perfect for this pic of my dear nephew having fun with some ice creame! I also used some of Darkroom Door's fabbie paper products, like Robot Filmstrip, Hello Baby Montage, Viva La Flora Wordstrip.

You can find the rest of my projects from Thursday HERE, and a second post gone live today HERE.

I hope you all are having a beautiful weekend!!! Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday card

Here is a card I did for my co-worker who turned 40 earlier this month.
Mikael 40I’m entering this in Scraplagret’s February Challenge which was to make a special card for a special somebody, trying to capture his/her personality on it. Well, I might not have read the fine print well enough, Mikael is just a co-worker who I love as a co-worker. LOL! (I am lucky enough to have the best working place in the world and I truly love the people I work with!)
Over to the “capture his personality” part. He is a historian, hence a vintage look. He is also a very well organized and tidy person so I kept it clean. His research area is Swedish constitution, so yellow and blue… AND, more precisely the position of the monarchy within the parliamentary system, hence the royal crown. :):):) I had my thinking cap on!
I’m off visiting my parents and I wish all my readers a wonderful weekend!!!!

A quick one! *updated from work*

I’m out of the door in a bit. Going to work. The hubby is home with sick boy. I’m stressed out… LOL! Can’t write full sentences.

Anyhooo, I’ve got a card I did last weekend with some Penny Black. Thought I’d give it a rest and post it later this week. Just to get some variance…

hello sunshine

I did this for Penny Black’s vellum challenge. And for a sketch challenge, Just ad ink, but I post this too late to participate. But I love the sketch!

Updated part:

I'm featured Guest Artist over at Darkroom Door blog today. I have three layouts and a couple of cards with their wonderful products on display. I got a huge box filled with goodies. Anyway, I'd love a visit! :) You can find the post HERE. Thanks! :):):)

Got to goooooo. Have a fab day folks!!!

Pion Design + Svensk Scrapbooking = sant

Fabbie Pion Design (Swedish vintage inspired paper manufacturer) has sponsored the Love Theme Challenge over at Svensk Scrapbooking this month. They also sponsored me and a team partner so that we could make inspiration samples. I’ve already blogged the layout, but here are my card and alter project (the challenge is to create a trio of layout, card and alter). I’ll also end this with a tutorial so this is a loooong post. Sorry for that!

First up a card. I’ts a pretty simple tag card, but I pimped it with beautiful paper and a fun tag top (done with my fave nestie).

TagkortTagkort tag

For my altered project, I did another mailbox. I did one a couple of weeks ago (HERE) and got quite a few question about how to make one and promised to make a tut in Swedish. So here it comes.  First the box, then a lot of Swedish. LOL.

Brevlåda 1Brevlåda 2Aren’t the papers just like magic??? Do you see the soft pattern? Didn’t want to cover it with too much embellies. The butterflies are cut out from one of the papers.

Brevlåda 3I covered them with a thin layer of crackle accent  both to make them more sturdy and give a vintage crackled surface. Aren’t they just beautiful!?!

***

Oki doki. Här kommer då en tutorial för brevlådan. Lite hemmasnickrad sådär. Särskilt mallarna… inte snygga men de funkar. :):):)

Du behöver:

Sax, musmatta (eller annat mjukt underlag), falsben, klädnypa
1 cardstock

…is a Swedish saying and I wont even try to translate the title of my latest layout. YES! I did a layout. Wohooo!!!!  Here it is. I’m pretty pleased with it. :):):) Well, I’m pleased I finally did a layout! I need to do that more often!

Tomtar på loftetIt’s my boy and his dad at a restaurant we visited while on winter vacation a couple of weeks ago. And yes, my boy is PALE!!!  He could be one of the Cullens… LOL!

The layout is my DT entrance over at Scrap-Perra’s blog (where I also explain the title, but in Swedish). I got a box filled with Pink Paislee goodies. I LOVE Queen Bee!!! I teamed it up with this fabbie sketch from Sketchy Thursdays

I have a card too. This one is for The Rubber Café and our No Patterned Paper challenge. Want to play??? All details HERE!!!

Hi There 4

I’m working with the CAS style. It’s super FUN!!!  The Umbrella stamp is colored with copics and topped off with some bling. Easy peasy. But I like how it came out.  The design is based on Card Pattern’s sketch 103

Have a great new week folks! Thanks for stopping by!!!!

Super Sketchy Sunday!!!

Hi Peeps!!!

We have a beautiful sunny Sunday. It’s ice cold outside (-23 degrees!!!) so I’ll watch the glimmering snow through the windows taking care of my sick son. Poor thing got the flu.

Sunday means a new fun sketch from Pam over at 365 Cards.

We also have a new sponsor for this week:

Guylou’s provided the DT with digis so go check the 365 Cards post out for some fun and beautiful samples!!!  I had problems with my printer so I never got a chance to use them. Here is my take on the sketch:

Spread your wings

More gorgeous Riddersholm Design papers from the new line Bello Pastello. I went for a monochromatic color scheme with black and beige neutrals. The stamps, tag and dragonfly are from the Clearly Beautiful Dragonfly  set from Prickley Pear. I like how it match the note pattern of the paper.

I’m off to take care of dear son. He has been crying on and off since he woke up an hour ago and realized he still has a very high fever. Tomorrow is the first trial of the annual chess tournament for fourth graders all over Sweden. He has been waiting and longing to participate in it since he started school and saw the older children do this. He loves chess. I’m helpless, cause I can’t make the fever go away. I can only hope.

Another card

…with Penny Black stamps… I’ll let them rest for a week or two, or at least a couple of days, promise! LOL! I think I need another set, really!

This is my sample card for this month’s card sketch challenge over at Svensk Scrapbooking. We are sponsored by the most beautiful Swedish patterned papers made by Maja Design. Yummy!!! Perfect match with my cute hedgie!

skissen februari

We have a super fun sketch for cards this month, and if you know Swedish you are welcome to participate in the challenge. All info HERE!

Skissen februari detalj

This is the card my little man choose to send to his grandma. He liked the colors and the fact the flowers were shimmering with glitter (he has great taste!). And do you see the stem, it's glossy accented. Love that stuff! And pop dots!

Have a lovely Thursday!

HI!

I just had lunch and thought I’d blog some before heading back to work. I made a quick card yesterday night. I got me some new Inkido papers and teamed them up with my Penny Black stamp set. I had forgotten how fun it is to color… LOL! This time I pulled out my Tombows, and I had this guy done in five minutes.

Grattis-1

I used Card Pattern’s fabbie sketch # 102

Back to reading. This time it’s all about assessment. And standard testing. Yikes! I’d prefer to read some about 19’th century cow assurances or something!

Take care!

Hi There!

This week’s The Rubber Café Challenge is all about paper piecing. I LOVE paper piecing (check out my card from last week…. LOL) and I loved making today’s card!!! I decided to use the Large Highwing Butterfly, cause I think it’s very beautiful and I’ve never tried to paper piece it before. It was a little fuzzy cutting involved, but I sure think it was worth it!!!

Hi There 2

Do you see the tiny beige dots on the butterfly? It’s pieces from the beige polka dot paper. Fuzzy cutting, I’ll tell ya!!!! The card is simple but with lot of dimension. I love pop dots!!! :):):)

Hi There 2 detalj

I made the card for SCS’s Featured Stamper Challenge and I lifted THIS card by Willow01.

I hope you will play with us over at  The Rubber Café this week! There are still a couple of days to enter to win a $10 gift certificate to The Rubber Café web shop. Make your paper pieced project and enter it HERE.

Take care and Happy Valentine’s Day!!!

Super Sketchy Sunday

Hi Peeps!

This week we have a super special sketchy week with sketch challenges EVERY day! AND – the sketches are made by the DT!!! Today’s Sunday sketch is made by Wendi, and a gorgeous sketch it is! Check it OUT!

I had sooooo much fun playing with it!!! I loved the white space AND the stacked embellie part!!!

Thinking of you

The BEAUTIFUL papers are the new Bello Pastello papers from Riddersholm Design. Do you see the soft flower pattern on the pink paper? Soooo gorgeous!!! All stamps are from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps. Sorot of a mix… Heheee. The flower border and the text flowers are from the Clearly Beautiful Flowers set. The cute Deer is from the last red rubber release and sentiment from the Birdcage set.

Thinking of you detalj

Do you see the upper corner part!?! It’s a lame try to lift my DT partner Michelle  over at Prickley Pear (AND Rubber Café too!!!). She did an AMAZING card for the release Blog Hop party a while back using the flower petals to pimp her corner. Her corner is waayy more beautiful than mine and you should check it out HERE. I think it’s really clever!!!

You can find the 365 Cards challenge and all the DT samples HERE! Hope you want to play!!!

Flashback Friday 8.0

Amy and guest designer launched a new Flashback Friday Challenge today. Not to end up like with the last one forgetting to blog, I decided to do it right away. Version 8.0 is about posting ones first altered item. Soooo here it is. From August 2007. I had been scrapbooking 6-7 months when I finally took the plunge…

 VSKA_1~1

It’s a purse card I did for my mom. She liked it! :):):)

Happy Friday!

Grattis mamma!!!!

Idag fyller min fina mamma år och jag önskar henne en riktigt HÄRLIG fördelsedag! Hoppas att du unnar dig lite tårta (eller annat gott!!!) och får måååååånga presenter (min får du när vi träffas!)
HIPP HIPP HURRA!!!!!

It’s my mom’s birthday today, and I’m wishing her a beautiful day!!! I made her a card with the most beautiful new Riddersholm Design paper there is. At first I didn’t want to cut it, but since it’s for her… LOL!

Do you see the soft patterns of beautiful roses??? Love this!!!! I kept it real clean to let the paper speak. Instead I worked with layers and texture.

I used this week’s sketch from Get Sketchy. I flipped it.

I got some new stuff from Scrap-Perra yesterday. I do NOT have time to play, need to get that syllabus in today (remember…LOL), but the new Penny Black stamps was tooo cute not to ink up. So I did a fifteen minutes card, one needs a breal, right!?! The Challenge over at the Penny Black blog this week is white space, so that was PERFECT!!! LOL!

Lots of white space. And really simple again (well, what do you expect out of a 15 minute card???) :):):). I masked the hedgehog and the ladybug and colored it up with distress ink. Then some glossy accent on the bug and some distress stickles in the fur of the hedgehog. Done.

Back to work. Thanks for stopping by!
And once again – Happy Birthday Mom!!!!

You push my buttons

Happy Tuesday!
I'm taking a break from writing a new syllabus. My head is spinning. I'm dreaming about Learning Outcomes at night... LOL! Oh well, deadline is tomorrow so I guess I'll be done soon. I HAVE to be done soon. And trust me, all of you who have never had the opportunity to write a new syllabus - that is a GOOD thing. I hope I wont have to write another one for years. Oki doki, that was today's whining. Thanks for letting me vent...

I have a card to share. I did it for The Rubber Café's color challenge this week. We were to use Pink, Red and black (and a neutral!). Love that combo so here is my take, using the Just my Type - set.

I teamed up the color challenge with this week's fabbie Card Pattern's sketch.

Here is a detail shot on my hearts. I covered them with Glossy Accent and they shine! So are all the tiny little buttons and it ads such nice texture to the card. I think that Glossy Accent and pop dots are essential for a good crafting life... :):):)

If you want to play with us, you can find the challenge HERE! You don't have to use Rubber Café stamps and you can win a $ 10 gift certificate in the shop!

Have a fab day!
